Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Evan began his technical training as an audio engineer at the age of 15. Working as assistant engineer for famed record producer Phillip Nell, he worked his way up to assistant producer and head engineer for Inhouse Records, SA.AT 18, he began his studies at Rhodes University where he graduated with honors in Psychology and Anthropology. Upon graduation, he went to study at The Global School of Entertainment Arts in London, United Kingdom. Evan graduated and travelled to Los Angeles, California where he began his studies at UCLA , continuing his technical training in computer studies, engineering and production.
After graduating from UCLA, he began working for Anita Mann Productions as the in-house engineer where he produced and engineered the audio components for a multitude of live shows.
After being given the opportunity to develop non-traditional marketing campaigns for various Las Vegas shows, Evan began his move towards the integration of technology and marketing. The implementing of strategic campaigns using a combination of technology based marketing strategies (SMS, viral net campaigns), lead Evan to be promoted to Director of Marketing for LevyMann Entertainment, where he honed his skills in technology based marketing.
Having built up a solid grounding in technology based marketing and guerilla marketing techniques, Evan moved on to form LazBro, Inc., specializing in digital, interactive and mobile marketing campaigns for companies such as Mysic Tan, VersaSpa, MGA Entertainment, Whish Body Products, Physicians Formula Cosmetics, California Olive Ranch, The San Pasqual Group of American Indians and Luxor, Las Vegas.
Evan is an active member of ASCAP, ThinkLA, and the MMA. He is known as a digital and mobile marketing expert. He is often invited to speak about the digital industry, and has been published in Response Magazine.
